We asked some of our model contest finalists to share their experience with us. Here's what Paige Masters had to say!
Paigey’s Trip to Paige Premium Denim
My trip to Paige Premium Denim headquarters began in Savannah, GA (I’m a junior Fashion Marketing and Management student at the Savannah College of Art and Design). Being a small-town Jonesborough, Tennessee girl, I had never been west of Memphis – to me, this was the trip of a lifetime! Thankfully, I didn’t have to travel alone; my mom was able to drive to Savannah so that we could fly out to Los Angeles together. The only problem, however, was that I was smack dab in the middle of mid-term exams! Lucky for me I have amazing, supportive professors who allowed me to finish my mid-term exams and projects in advance. With nothing standing in my way, this country chick was going to California!
My mom and I made it to LAX around midnight PST, which still felt like 3 AM, and took the airport shuttle to our hotel: Embassy Suites. We were both so exhausted that once we found our room, we immediately went to bed.
The next morning, I took my time getting ready. I decided to wear a little green dress by BCBGMaxazria paired with fuchsia tights and strappy, black, patent leather heels. I wore my hair in its natural way, down and wavy, and kept my make-up soft. Giddy with excitement, my mom and I called for a cab to be on our way to Paige Premium Denim headquarters!
Our cab driver kept us entertained on our way to Culver City. He found it extremely intriguing that we were from Tennessee and proceeded to ask us numerous questions about our family and life on the farm. After learning the differences between Tennesseans and Californians, we finally arrived at Paige Denim.
Being the first model to arrive, I was very nervous and anxious about meeting the other girls, but as the day progressed and I learned more about them, I realized that I was making lasting friendships. Although we were all from different backgrounds and of various ages, together we became a dynamic and supportive group of friends.
During the contest, we each were interviewed by Paige herself, received a fabulous pair of PPD jeans, modeled in a photo shoot, and toured the entire Paige Denim Headquarters! It was such an honor and an opportunity to be a part of the Paige Denim Model Contest and to meet Paige! I absolutely love the brand and view Paige as such an inspiration to young girls around the world! Even though I didn’t win, I feel like I gained so much just be being involved! It was an amazing experience that I will remember forever!
After saying our ‘goodbyes,’ my mom and I decided to spend the rest of our evening on Robertson Boulevard. We first ate supper at The Ivy - SO good - and then went shopping at Intermix, Kitson, and of course, Paige Premium Denim. My biggest and best purchase of the night was a black leather jacket by Paige! It was a wonderful way to end our fabulous trip.
The next morning we headed back to good ole’ Savannah! Even though it was a whirlwind trip, my mom and I had a lot of fun! It truly was the trip of a lifetime; we hope to come back to California very soon – this time with my dad and sister, Chelsea too:) To everyone at Paige Premium Denim: Thank you again for everything you did for my mom and I! All of you are wonderful, amazing people, and I’m very blessed and thankful to have been a part of this contest! God bless you all!
Love, Paigey
